Vary Your Precor Elliptical Workout

Another way to vary your Precor elliptical workout is to change your stride from forward moving to backward moving. You can't do this with all ellipticals, but Precor is one where this is possible.

Why would you want to do this? Well, quite simply, you'll change the intensity for different muscle groups. With a forward stride on an elliptical, you're putting more of the work on your quads. With a backwards stride, you're putting more work on your hamstrings and calf muscles.

What I like when I'm doing a Precor elliptical workout is to stride forward for 10 minutes, then stride backwards for the next 10. Then I finish off the workout with a forward stride. You could actually change up every 5 minutes if you wanted to. It's great fun, good for the muscles, and will alleviate any boredom you might have with your workout.
